Welcome to Sundays at Home

Good morning and welcome to Trinity! So glad you are tuning in virtually for today’s service. Each week you’ll find Sundays at Home with Trinity Episcopal Church. We feature the full service recording, as well as the sermon and anthem on their own.

In-person services are held at Trinity Church each Sunday at 8:00am & 10:30am and at 12:00noon each Wednesday.

Once again, thank you for tuning in and for being faithful with your time, talents, and treasures.

Grace and Peace!
Rev. Jonathan V. Adams

Music Notes

Continuing our recognition of Black History Month, we are featuring at least one composition by a Black composer each week in February. This week’s organ voluntaries are by the English composer Samuel Coleridge Taylor (1875-1912) and his composition teacher at the Royal College of Music, Charles Villiers Stanford (1852-1924). Of mixed race birth, Taylor was named after the famous English poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge. He achieved wide success and toured the US three times. During one of those tours, he was received by President Theodore Roosevelt at the White House in 1904. Stanford, born in Dublin and educated in England, is best remembered by his choral works composed for church performance, most of which are in the Anglican tradition. The Trinity Choir will sing his anthem “O For a Closer Walk With God” at the 10:30 in person service. At Communion, the choir will sing a lovely chant setting of this week's Gospel lesson, the Beatitudes, adapted by American composer Richard Proulx (1937-) from the Russian Orthodox liturgy. This will be the Offertory featured on this week’s virtual service.
