A: Stewardship means wisely caring for something that belongs to someone else. In Genesis, God calls humankind stewards of his creation. Everything we have – our time, our resources, and our gifts – comes from and belong rightly to God.

A: Each fall, we have a four-week stewardship campaign to invite members to make a financial pledge for next year’s annual operating budget.

A: The church is asking you to make a pledge or commitment for 2027. In other words, let the church know what you plan to give during the calendar year beginning January 1, 2027.

A: An annual pledge is a commitment made in faith of what you will give to Trinity Church’s annual operating budget over the coming year.

A: Your gifts contribute towards the church’s operating budget. This includes all the expenses of the day-to-day ministry at Trinity Church, including worship expenses, Christian education and formation, children’s ministry, the maintenance of our buildings and grounds, utilities, and staff salaries.

A: Trinity Church encourages our members to use the biblical standard of the tithe (10% of one’s annual income) as the basis of our giving to the church. Of course, this is a decision for each household to reach prayerfully. If you can’t give 10%, that’s okay. Start small. Our goal is to see our congregation giving in faith and out of the abundance of love.

A: At Trinity, we address stewardship for a few weeks every fall. Money belongs to God, so for Christians, money is not secret or “off-limits.” Jesus talked about it a lot. We don’t do high-pressure talks. We don’t coerce anyone into giving to the church. But we always aim to be transparent and open about how the ministry of the church is supported by your giving.

A: Our budget is designed to fund our ongoing ministries while allowing us to keep up with the growth we are experiencing as a congregation. Our budget will allow us to ensure vibrant ministries for our increasing numbers from children to retirees, deepen our ministry partnerships, and strengthen pastoral care and clergy leadership. Our goal for 2027 is to raise $775,000 in pledges.
