Welcome to Sundays at Home

Good morning and welcome to Trinity! So glad you are tuning in virtually for today’s service. Each week you’ll find Sundays at Home with Trinity Episcopal Church. We feature the full service recording, as well as the sermon and anthem on their own.

Special Summer Service Times continue through the summer months. We will have in-person services each Sunday at 9:00am (Rite II Eucharist, with hymns) and 5:00pm (Celtic Evening Prayer, with Eucharist).

Once again, thank you for tuning in and for being faithful with your time, talents, and treasures.

Grace and Peace!
Rev. Jonathan V. Adams

This week's organ voluntaries are from the pen of English composers. Percy Whitlock (1903-1946) was a church musician, a municipal organist and a railway enthusiast. S. S. Wesley (1810-1876) was the grandson of famous hymn writer Charles Wesley. He is best known for his hymn tune "Aurelia" to which we sing the text "The church's one foundation".

The Offertory, "Panis Angelicus (Bread of angels)" is the last stanza of a hymn written by St. Thomas Aquinas. In 1872, French composer Cesar Franck set this verse for tenor solo. Trumpeter Doug Wilson plays the melody on this rendition.

Finally, the sequence hymn, #279, was chosen to correlate with the Epistle lesson from Hebrews. The tune, St. George, was written by Henry John Gauntlett (1805-1976), composer of the tune "Irby" to which we sing "Once in Royal David's City".
