Outreach Projects

The mission of Trinity’s Outreach is to provide financial support to organizations that enhance and enrich the lives of people in need, with emphasis on sustainable and enduring projects that enable long term goals.

Blue Ridge Hospice

Blue Ridge Hospice was founded 30 years ago in Winchester, VA at a time when hospice and palliative care were not well-known. The mission of our not-for-profit organization remains the same since its inception. We make quality palliative and end-of-life care available to individuals and families facing serious illness, and we support anyone in our community affected by death, dying, and loss. Blue Ridge Hospice does not turn anyone away, regardless of ability to pay for services.

The Blue Ridge Hospice service area encompasses the counties of Loudoun, Fauquier, Frederick, Clarke, Rappahannock, Luray, Shenandoah, and Warren, as well as the City of Winchester. Blue Ridge Hospice also maintains an eight-bed inpatient care center in downtown Winchester for patients no longer able to stay in their own homes.

Our outreach services include grief and bereavement, music and pet therapy, chaplaincy, various educational programs, and workshops. Visit us at www.blueridgehospice.org or call 540-536-5210.

MAP is committed to distributing only high-quality, Federal Drug Administration approved medicines and supplies in conformance with the core principles of the World Health Organization’s good drug donation practices.

An estimated 35 million people benefit from the partnership between MAP International and key corporate medical suppliers.

Helping Haitian Angels

Helping Haitian Angels was founded by 4 friends and family members from the northern Virginia area. Half of the founders unexpectedly met 40 homeless orphans on a mission trip in the summer of 2008 to Cap-Haitien, Haiti. The 40 orphans were homeless, covered in scabies, sick from malnutrition and desperate for help.

After an emotional return to the states Debbie Harvey (one the volunteers) decided she must do more then just mourn their misfortune. Debbie decided to share their story with her friends, her church, her family with anyone that would listen. After just a week she  reunited with the  volunteers and in just a month they raised enough money to provide the kids medical care, shelter and food.

Debbie and her recruits created what is now (just one year later) a 501(c)3 non-profit christian organization raising funds nationally for the care of the Kay Anj (Angel House) Orphanage of Cap-Haitien, Haiti.

Mogra Star Academy

Mathare, home to nearly 500,000 inhabitants, is regarded as one of the worst and most dangerous slums in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. Life in the slum is bleak; the dwellings have no adequate power, water, or waste disposal facilities and there is widespread prevalence of AIDS.

In 1999, in order to address the critical needs of children living in Mathare, David and Hannah Njoroge founded Mogra Star. Hannah, who has dedicated her life to improving the lives of children in the slums of Nairobi, is the face of the organization and having been a Mathare resident herself, is well aware of living conditions and challenges faced by both, children and parents. For nearly a decade, Hannah has championed education for destitute children in Mathare, and with the help of numerous donors and volunteers, led the expansion of Mogra Star from a small child-care center to an organization which is home to over 180 orphans and nearly 1,300 school children.

If you wish to help Mogra Star with their primary goals of rehabilitating and providin shelter for street children and orphans with AIDS, and providing high quality education to assist children in achieving their full potential, please visit www.mograstar.org/help.html
